Gwinnett Christian Terrace staff is committed to promoting independence and health physically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. To accomplish this, a wide variety of activities are offered in the hope of meeting the needs and interests of all our residents.
Group activities are planned and led by various people, including staff, resident volunteers, outside volunteers, and paid performers. If we do not already offer an activity in which someone is interested, we will be happy to research it and try to find it or an acceptable alternative.
As we grow older together, we mark each season with annual trips, such as a drive to the mountains to buy apples and see the glorious colors of the leaves, and a trip to Lake Lanier to enjoy the incredible holiday light display. In addition to the seasonal trips, we celebrate with summer cookouts, ice cream socials, teas, Christmas parties, and the social event of our season, the Valentine Party, where a king and queen are chosen.
Each month, residents’ birthdays are celebrated at a special birthday luncheon where we enjoy food and fellowship as we laugh and talk together. Regular monthly trips include meals at local restaurants and our popular “Dine and Dance” trip to Northlake Mall where residents can eat, shop, dance, or listen to the live band.
Weekly trips include the Monday Wal-Mart trip and additional shopping excursions to various malls and discount stores.
Other trips are planned to appeal to the varied ethnic and cultural interests of our residents and we are always eager to receive suggestions. Please take a look at the sample calendar on our website to get a more detailed idea of just how hard we are working to meet the needs of the people who make Gwinnett Christian Terrace their home.
We strive to be a loving and caring community while respecting the individual and his or her privacy. All are encouraged to be part of the events and happenings, but each resident determines his own level of participation, with pressure from no one. Many residents report that they enjoy this easy access to socialization, while having their personal space and privacy respected.
